Dax mineral water and peloid

The Water:
Dax mineral waters have properties that have been recognised and used since ancient times. they are rich in oligo-elements which are beneficial to the body, good for your health. The spa water (between 56 and 60°C) in Dax comes from rainwater which passes through the Eastern border of the Aquitaine basin, through the very depths, enriching itself en route with mineral salts and heating with the contact with the rock. The waters spring up in the lower Adour Valley at the Fountaine Chaude where the temperature (62.5°C), mineralisation (g/litre) and flow (140m3) are the highest.

The Dax Régie Municipale des Eaux (water management board) take care of the production and distribution of the spa water to the different establishments in the resort and ensure its quality:
     

• Extraction of silt from the Adour
• Preparation of a soft and creamy spa water paste
• Growth of spa algae under spa water sprays
• Maturing of the product for 21 days at 42°C
• Packaging and delivery of the product to the spa establishments.

  

• Removal of the product from the spa circuit after use and return of it to a natural environment. It is never reused.
• Quality approach that guarantees guests the ideal preparation and performances off the product.

Peloid:
Dax peloid is the result of a preparation procedure which is unique in Europe. It is obtained by maturing the silt from the Adour in the hyperthermal waters. From traditional components (mineral water, Adour silt, algae), the qualities of the product are optimised and the process guarantees a uniform composition throughout the year.
The biological stage of the spa algae is specific to the resort and distinguishes Dax peloid from other spa muds. This stage contains active ingredients which help with the treatments.

All the personal treatments use spa water with no additives and with no mixers.
The spa products used are permanently checked by our quality department, the services of the Ministry for Health and the Qualitherme charter.
